A local of Somerset, WI, Brock is the general manager and oversees all hockey aspects of the camp. With his diverse background in all levels of hockey, Brock brings a knowledge of the game that very few have had the opportunity to gain. Throughout his career, he has been taught hard work and dedication from some of the top coaches in the world. Brock is known for his skating and speed as a player which creates scoring opportunities for both him and his teammates. It is his goal for Northern Built Hockey Camp to teach the campers his form and technique to become an elite skater along with all the other skills he has learned throughout his career

Also a native of Somerset, WI, Sam is our head off-ice instructor who oversees the campers shooting and stick handling training. With Sam’s extensive and impressive hockey resume that started with the youth team here in Somerset, he is excited to teach what he has learned from top hockey programs around the world. Sam’s countless hours of his own off-ice shooting and stick handling training has made him one of the best offensive defenseman in European hockey, he impressively recorded a 105 mph slapshot while playing in Sweden which is one of the fastest slapshots ever recorded. He brings special skills to us from playing with the USA National Team Development Program (USNTDP), the University of Minnesota Gophers, Guelph Storm (Ontario Hockey League) and the top professional leagues in Sweden, Finland, Russia, and Switzerland.

Jordan Schroeder is a center for the Minnesota Wild of the NHL and a native of Prior Lake, Minnesota. Before Schroeder was wearing the green and white for the Wild he was wearing the Red, White and Blue for the United States National Development Program for four seasons. After his time in the USDP, he committed to the Minnesota Gold Gophers where he recorded a total of 45 points in his freshman season. This same year Schroeder was drafted in the first round, 20th overall by the Vancouver Canucks. After his sophomore year with the gophers Schroeder left to start his professional career with the Canucks AHL program where he recorded a total of 44 points with the Chicago Wolves. After three years with the Canucks, Schroeder was traded to his home state of Minnesota to play for the Wild where he has since been with their AHL program the Iowa Wild and the Minnesota Wild. Currently, Schroeder has been a key player for the Wild in what is seemingly one of their best seasons in the last ten years with 7 points in 13 games. We are excited to have Jordan’s array of knowledge from different areas of the game taught to our young campers this year.
Alec Vanko is a native of Oregon, Wisconsin where he grew up playing for Oregon High School. Vanko was then drafted by the Chicago Steel of the United States Hockey League and played three seasons in the league with the Chicago Steel, Madison Capitals and the Youngstown Phantoms. Currently Alec is a junior defenseman for the University of Minnesota State-Mankato in the Wester Collegiate Hockey Association. Alec was a counselor for Northern Built Hockey Camps 2016 summer and we are excited to have him for our third year as our head counselor. Alec not only is great with the campers on the ice pushing them to work hard but he is a great role model off of the ice with encouragement and overall makes the campers’ experience
a fun one.
As camp director, Lizabeth oversees all administrative and non-hockey aspects of the Northern Built Hockey Camp. Born and raised in a sports family, she pursued a career in the field by furthering her education at the University of Nebraska Omaha where she received her Bachelor of Arts in Sports Communication and her Master of Arts with an emphasis in Sports Communication. While there, Lizabeth interned as a Student Sports Information Director for various activities such as men’s ice hockey, women’s swimming and diving and football. Her overall goal for Northern Built Hockey Camp is to make every camper’s experience safe, educational and enjoyable.
Another local of Somerset, WI, Dan advises in many of the decisions for Northern Built Hockey Camps. Dan is a very important person to help make our camps run smoothly by being the head coach of the Somerset varsity team for the past ten seasons, running his own hockey training programs, and being the manager of the Somerset Ice Arena.
